Trainers with inserts or prefolds?

Looking to make some trainers from the TTT pattern. Have a ton of random prefolds and inserts. Thinking I could use terry on the wet zone panel and then snap in inserts. Going to try snaps on front and back. More absorbent than other trainers and easier to clean with faster dry time.

Think it would work?

Any other suggestions for what to use as trainer soakers?

In adding flannel to regular undies. It's soft but you can definitely feel wetness. I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with terry in my underwear, it might be a little rough unless its some nice like microterry or something
