Playing with poo
The title pretty much says it all, but here's the rest.
My 4 year old...just turned 4 Sunday...has special needs (angelmans syndrome). We were told he'd never be fully potty trained. Well, he started prek last January and since then he's done very well. He's in big boy undies at school now all the time. By at home were still having major issues and I need some advice, We put him in undies, but he never tells us when he has to go. He's mostly nonverbal, but has cues and know how to tell us. I also have an almost 2 year old and a 4 month old. So I ask him abut every half hour and even if he says yes I out him in there, but he'll either barely go or not go at all. And then sometimes ill go find him to ask and he's covered in poo. As in he'll go and then stick his hands down his butt and cover himself in it. I have no idea what to do anymore. He's been doing this one and off for about 2 years. I used to think it was just he didn't know there was poo there and then got surprised. By now he's almost defiant about it. I'm at the end of my rope since now he's progressed to actually smearing it on everything. Soooooo not okay. So any help? He doesn't do it at school and rarely even has accidents there, I'm just sooooo over it. |
