I think a dry pail is recommended by most companies that make pockets/all in ones. That's what I use and its worked great!

Re: Wet or dry pail?
Dry. As long as you wash about every other day and have a good wash routine then you don't need to soak. I've cloth diapered for a year and only use a dry pail. It's easy to toss into and I don't have a dangerous pail of water sitting around getting slimy and that I have to lug and dump and wash.

Dry pail, ie wet bag... Confused yet ;-) Wet pails are no longer recommended because of sanitary concerns.

Re: Wet or dry pail?
Most people these days use a dry pail. I prefer using a handing pail (dry). I think everyone should start there.
I did find that with microfiber nightime inserts I needed to put them in a wet pail, other people get along fine with just rinsing microfiber before putting it in the bag (i think it would work for me, just haven't bothered). I suggest waiting until you find you need to do this (or anything wet pailish) but it's something to keep in mind.

I use a dry pail for my pockets, but when I do wash I wash my pockets and inserts seperate. While my pockets are washing I soak my inserts.
