Laundry question, please help!

Okay, so I'm not new to cloth diapering and have been using a variety if products (synthetics and natural - mostly bamboo and hemp). I just decided to venture into the world of cotton and now have a dozen imagine bamboo prefolds (I realize these ate bamboo and cotton) and workhorse fitteds. The GMD instructions say absolutely no RnG. I've alternating BG detergent and RnG since I started cloth diapering. Why can't I use RnG on cotton? Can I use the BG detergent? Help!

Which detergent is best for synthetics and cotton? What do you all use?

We use tide on everything

Can I use a high efficiency kind? I have a FL.

I use Tide Free on everything. I would imagine she advises against it because of the volume of people that have had issues with it not cleaning well and causing premature deterioration of fabric and rashes. It works for some people just fine though.

I think that is silly. You can use rockin green on cotton. I think someone is just doesn't like that detergent because it doesn't work for everyone. Keep doing what you are doing if it's working.

Why can't you use RnG on GMD? That makes no sense. It's cotton, it's not like it will get ruined easily. It may not clean great, but it won't hurt it. And the only way to find out if it works is to try it, so I say do it!

It specifically said in the instructions not to use RnG, mentioned it by name and said it voids the warranty :-(

I say that is stupid, someone is prejudice. I use rocking green (i don't have GMD) and I think it does a great job.

Is the warranty something that would actually get used? I didn't know diapers came with warranties.
