Thrush question
We are both being treated for thrush, but does anyone have any experience with saving milk while having it? I have a milk saver that I collect about a half an ounce to an ounce & a half each time I nurse. Idk if I should still save that milk or dump it?

Re: Thrush question
I have heard there is thrush in the milk you pump/collect etc. Do not quote me on that though. I only had thrush once 15 years ago, so not sure nor remember what I did. I know I was pumping for work.

Re: Thrush question
If you want to be totally safe dump it and make sure you're sterilizing your pump parts each time you pump. There's really no straight answer about milk pumped while treating thrush, though general consensus is that there's a chance of re-contamination.

Ok I'll prob just dump it to be safe. I'd hate to freeze it and then end up with thrush again at a later date:/

You can pasteurize it to get rid of the yeast. Check kellymom.com for more info on that.

Re: Thrush question
I had thrush for almost 5 months and everywhere I read said that freezing milk does not kill the yeast so I would dump it. Hope you get rid of it soon...it is a monster in my books!
