Re: What printer do you have?
I have a Brother inkjet. If you get one that takes LC-61 or 71 or a few others, you can get generic ink for like a buck or 2 per cartridge. I print a ton, a case or 2 of paper a year, in full color, and only spend about $30 a year on ink.

Re: What printer do you have?
I also have a wireless Brother ink-jet all-in-one. LOVE it! I also buy the super cheap non-OEM cartridges from Amazon or ebay. We print a lot and only spend about $20 per year on ink.

Re: What printer do you have?
What do you want o do with printer? Color photos I wwould go with inkjet brand you like. If lots of papers with some pictures then hp color laser.I have 2840 I think. Works well with windows 7. Haven't found driver for xp.
Any laser if you are just doing word docs. Rextex I think on ebay is awesome & decent prices... really good seller for all in ones & others too.I bought mine a 75lbs printer, copier, fax & scanner for 90 total ...you could go to goodwill buy cheap since lots after run out of ink that came with people goodwill a prefectly good printer then they buy new. Ebay good place to find cheap cartriges & compatibles... even though mines a hp I have cannon I think cArtridges that work..... you can get refill kits cheap too... toner for laser lasts long time... shake til completely out to get all out in use....

Re: What printer do you have?
I have used several of the different suppliers generic cartridges. I have had my machine for gosh 5 years?? I haven't had problems with any of them. and like LAF, if I count the cartridges I have left over at the end of the year I probably spend less than $20 a year.

Re: What printer do you have?
I have this one saved in my wishlist on Amazon... I want that duplex feature so bad, mine was bought before it was an affordable option.

Re: What printer do you have?
I love my HP Officejet Pro 8600. I have either the mid or bottom one in the series (I've forgotten precisely, but I think there are three in the series; the benefit of the top one is better fax service and the ability to feed multiple pages through the top feeder thing without handling them all individually). It is one of the most efficient I could find in terms of ink use, and I love being able to turn an automatic double-sided printing feature on instead of having to try to feed printed pages through backwards. The scanner is better than my old one too. I seldom use color or print pictures, but it has done fine for that as well when the need hits. I love having the copying function; my old printer had copying too, but it's scanner among other things was really poor. My only complaint about the HP Officejet Pro 8600 is that getting the automatic two sided printing on as the default was not intuitive at all and required searching help forums online; sometimes it has to be reset too after you have printed something not two sided.

Re: What printer do you have?
I have this printer and love it. Mind you, I didn't buy from Amazon, I bought it from Best Buy for $99.99 plus tax.
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS.../chrisficti-20 DH really wanted a laser printer as we haven't ever had good luck with an inkjet. I did quite a bit of research and decided on this one as it is fairly inexpensive and the replacement cartridges are very cheap too. I couldn't be more pleased with this printer. I use it a lot and we have replaced the black cartridge twice and each color once since buying it in September. I can say that it is not suitable for photos, even though it says it is capable.

Re: What printer do you have?
Btw, I've had mine for at least 6-9 months now and am routinely printing out 100s of pages double-sided at a time. My ink is getting low but hasn't required replacement.
