Thirsties Duo Wraps Vs. Sized Questions
Can someone tell me if you can use the thirsties duo wraps right from birth? I'm assuming the baby will be the same size as my others so 7lbs 13 oz.
I plan on using GMD prefolds and then thirsties covers. However, i used the sized ones last time (and sold them because we moved and thought we were done ), but it looks like the duo wraps are 'in' now?Do they still have the double gussets? Is there a difference between the snaps and aplix? I used aplix last time simply because it was on sale, but i have a chance to get some snaps and don't know if i'll like it? Is the fit the same? Thanks so much.

Re: Thirsties Duo Wraps Vs. Sized Questions
Yes they still have double gussets and yes they will fit a newborn. A lot of people think the Duo fit smaller than an XS sized one. I've only tried a Duo on a 6 pound newborn and it fit. As far as snaps, they have a single row of snaps and a lot of people prefer double row. I like snaps better than velcro but three times now I've gotten a snap duo that has a really hard time actually snapping. I don't know if it's just bad luck or if they have problems with a lot of their covers. They are great covers otherwise and would be perfect if they had two rows of snaps IMO.

Re: Thirsties Duo Wraps Vs. Sized Questions
My baby was 6lbs 1 oz at birth. I waited a bit to use prefolds n covers. When I did start, I liked the xs thirstie covers. Imo they were a better fit and the aplix made it easy to change lo. However, the duos work excellent as well. They last longer too because of them being adjustable. It all depends on a persons preference.

only a single row? WOW. I really like my fuzzi bunz and they had double rows i believe, but sometimes the legs would be too tight/or too loose. I wonder if it i should stick to velcro or give the snaps a try too. The lot i was looking at had 2 velcro and 3 snaps, but i've never used snaps. Plus, i have to drive to pick up and they are still charging 10/cover. Is that reasonable? It has been so long since i've CD'd Plus, now i'm in Canada and everything seems so much more expensive ![]() Maybe i'll try all the snaps on the covers when i pick up to make sure they work. Would they snap for you and then come undone easily? or just not snap? So i know what to look out for.

Yah, usually i like sized better because my lo's have long rises and seem to outgrow one-size long before potty training. I'm just having a hard time finding sized ones. Do you happen to know how long ago they quite selling them? Or do they still sell them in the US?

Re: Thirsties Duo Wraps Vs. Sized Questions
My duos fit from birth but were too high up and bumped the cord and it bothered me so for the first 3 weeks I used nb proraps with an umblillical cut out. After that it was duos size 1 and we transitioned seamlessly into duo size 2. I have heard from some people though that the size jump isn't right and for a while their baby won't fit into size 2's after they outgrow the size 1's.
