What to do when you first get you diapers

I wash with my dirties and add 1/4 cup of bleach. I bleach in every load, but with new to me used diapers I always do a 1/4 cup, just to make sure.

I bleach used dipes just in case.

Doesn't the bleach hurt the diapers? I have some prefolds and thirsties covers new to me but used I need to wash, but 1, I have a top loader HE so I don't even know how to do that... Should I just try hand washing them in a bucket or something?

I don't often buy used. But I just washed some used trainers. I did 1.5oz of biokleen oxygen bleach on sanitize. I don't often use oxy bleach and I only recently used sanitize for the first time to kill some yeast. I figured once for "no reason" wouldn't' hurt.

If you are stripping with dawn, how much do you use, what's the ratio of water to dawn?

I just throw them in with my dirty load of dipes. I handwash, but I always squirt a bit of blue dawn when I pre-rinse. I leave it soaking for 30 mins to an hour.

Bacout. I did not notice a difference on dipes but I use it on pet stains, etc all the time!!!!!
