Yeah, that definitely depends on where you live. 30 degrees in February is a heat wave here. Kids play outside for hours in that temp.

30 would feel amazing here right now. The kids would be out playing if it was 30.

Op just enjoy the alone time and thank DH for taking the initiative. You now get to get stuff done and don't have to listen to whining about taking a walk for the next 2 hours

It's not unreasonable to ask; but if daddy offers to help sometimes its just better to let his do his own thing. I guess be glad you have a little bit of alone time to get things done? But I totally understand.

And our temps are in the mid 60s to low 70s for the most part with a chill wind. 40s and 50s are not terribly common. 30s would have us inside all day. So it really does deoend!

Thanks for the input everyone! Dh ended up coming home pretty quickly and we ended up going on a hike when it warmed up!

Gosh, if 30 is no weather for kids to be out walking in then we wouldn't be able to leave the house from November to April. Heck, it rarely hits 30 the entire month of January. We walk every day and play outside every day unless it's below in the single digits or below zero - even then we may still play outside but just not for very long.

OP, I don't think you're being unreasonable, but then again, i think it's a non-issue - if he didn't want to wait and left without you, then at least you got some quiet time to get some stuff done is how I would've looked at it...in fact, last weekend it was brutally cold out (single digits) and DD wanted to go outside but I didn't want to (she's 3) so DH took her out to play and I got to stay inside. I stayed in the warm toasty house doing dishes while they played outside in the single digit bitter cold day.

I don't think you are unreasonable to ask (nicely), also don't think it's unreasonable of them to go ahead when they felt like it.
