I wrote a similar thread about a year ago. Got great advice, the best was to literally carry her like a baby almost already folded/sitting position(if that makes sense? lol) and just plop her in the seat and quick put the straps on. When I was carrying her to the car on my hip and then moving her out in front of me, it allowed her start to wriggle before even getting in the seat.

ETA: It was a phase, but I still use that method now

FF doesn't fix it. Then they just slither down to the floor.

You just keep the fight up. It's definitely a phase albeit a really annoying one. I definitely agree with the "fold" trick. I used to do it with DD when she would try to be silly by sitting backwards. Just be firm and tell him that no matter what kind of fit he throws he will get in his seat and be safe. I turned DD at almost 3 bc I was getting frustrated. It worked for maybe a few days then she was just jumping around the car which was harder to deal with. Good luck!!

It's an irritating phase for sure.

But chest clip last. If you get the legs in you are probably good. (and at that point able to put your knee on their hips to hold them down if you need to!!) Chest clip first and they will slither down too much!

DD did the same. It's a phase. I gave her snacks like yogurt chips and puffs to bribe her and keep her happy in the carseat.

It's all a phase.

My kids get to make their own decisions regarding a lot of things. What's for breakfast, what outfit they want for the day, what color toothbrush they want, etc.

What they DON'T get to decide on is anything that regards their safety or health. They WILL ride in their car seats the way I have them installed (be it RFing or FFing). They WILL get their teeth brushed two times a day. They WILL eat a balanced diet. Etc, etc.

I don't mind being the "mean mom" when it comes to these types of things. Soon enough they will be old enough to realize why we make the decisions we do.

I am not above bribery when it comes to my kids and making my life easier. For my oldest it took an an organic lollipop and my middle dd is partial to chocolate so a few m&ms gets me a long ways with her. The baby is almost one and so far she is a big fan of goldfish.

Exactly this. Getting in the car and getting buckled is not an option. consequences happen when there is a big fight or they are running around the car.

They figured it out pretty quick that mom means buisness.

DVD players are for long trips only. If the get right in they can have a book
