Re: What else do you have to do?

DS potty trained and sleeping in his own bed . Now all I have to do is shopping- still need breastmilk storage bags, extra base for carseat, maybe double stroller, newborn sposies, ect... I have to get my birth kit and decided if I want to try for a water birth.

I did get small diapers and all my GN clothes washed and put away.

Re: What else do you have to do?

Well I knocked off a few things from the list this week, I scored some nursing tanks on sale and my breast pump came thanks to the ACA. But I still need to...

- finish getting stuff together for the homebirth, home visit is this Thursday.
- get one more u/s to monitor baby growth and make sure she is head down
- wash all the baby clothes I recently made and prep the diapers one more time
- write my shower thank you notes
- attend my Blessingway
- take my maternity photos
- make more freezer meals
AND
- make sure my two subs for my classes know what they are doing so I can cut and run!

I'm still trying to get over this flipping flu (I'm pretty confident it really was the flu) so that I can get going on stuff. I have no energy!

-I've been knitting up a storm, so I need to sew on a few buttons and lanolize wool.
-originally I wasn't planning on doing many freezer meals, but I've been so pooped from the flu that I'm a little more worried about cooking dinners once baby is here. So, yeah, I need to get some stuff in the freezer.
-clean my house. I require a freshly scrubbed house to bring baby home to. I sure won't have time for scrubbing after that, and a messy house stresses me out.
-pack my hossie bag
-set up the pack n play in my bedroom
-get the bouncy chair and swing downstairs from the attic, cleaned, and set up.
-install car seat base

Diapers and non wool clothes are all ready to go, plus the crib is all set up. Thanks to Anya, I also scored on new nursing bras and camisoles.

Re: What else do you have to do?

I have a big list still...though I did knock a few items off last week and yesterday (yay for ending procrastination!). I still need to:

--review/update my birth plan from my last baby
--get my sleepy wrap back from DH's cousin
--clean out a big unruly cupboard (nesting is awesome, isn't it?)
--find where I put my newborn diapers
--tour labor and delivery (I'm switching to a new hospital for this birth)
--pack my birth bag
--meet with my doula

I'd also LIKE to:
--get DD a new mattress
--get a new bathroom sink (and talk DH in to installing it)
--maybe work on some charity quilts to get some more fabric out of my house.

Oh good! Glad someone else got that deal! It was awesome, I scored 5 nursing tanks for under $100 If I find anymore I'll post for everyone else!

Re: What else do you have to do?

Hello new here : )

This is a great list to make sure I haven't missed anything!

So far I think I'm all set just have to make my changing pad cover and a changing mat, some snap bibs and burp cloths.

Freezer meals are a great idea!

I'm so glad my sister gave me a tip to bring my own baby wash to the hospital. So I got some California baby from target that's on sale. Much gentler for baby.

Re: What else do you have to do?

At 32 weeks now and still have a *lot* of preparation ahead of me. Thanks to your lists there's even more than I realized... This is our first baby so I don't realize what I'm in for yet!

I've finally put together registries with a lot of the essentials (stroller, crib sheets, diapers, changing pads) and I hope to get them at my baby shower in a couple of weeks! I have literally no nursing gear yet - but my husband and I bought and assembled a crib and have moved around a lot of furniture to accommodate guests that come to visit - my mom and my husband's mom will be coming to stay with us in shifts to help keep the newborn situation under control!

Getting our hand-me-down carseat installed is going to be the next task - my husband learned today at a "daddy boot camp" session that after you install it, you can drive down to the local fire station to get your setup inspected!

So... to make everything more manageable I guess I should make a list eh?
-- have our weekend "crash course" in prepared childbirth (two weekends away)
-- install carseat (and make sure it's kosher with the local fire dpt!)
-- come up with a birth plan
-- come up with a hospital bag list
-- build up the cloth diaper stash!
-- wash all diapers, baby clothes, sheets, etc. in baby-safe detergent
-- figure out what all I need for nursing (plan to EBF)
-- figure out some type of canopy curtain system for over the crib (sharing a room w/baby)
-- pick up a cube-organizer for storage of baby items (very limited on space, 2br apt!)

Re: What else do you have to do?

We're good to go.. for the most part. Everything has been purchased. Baby gear is all set up and in it's place. Diaper bag is packed. All clothes are washed and put away. Breast pump parts, storage bottles, and baby bottles are all sanitized, washed, and put away.

All that we need is a bigger vehicle. Haha, and I say, "all" like it isn't a big deal. We currently have a Chrysler T&C mini van.. but it only seats 7. :/ Dh has an extended cab pickup... so until we find something that seats 8, we will just have to take seperate vehicles.. which sucks. I enjoy our family outings, especially the ride there & back. I originally wanted a Chevy Traverse or GMC Acadia.. but after test driving them both, while they are big, I still don't think they're big enough for a family of 8 with all kids being in car seats or booster seats. So now we're considering a Toyotta Sienna. Still exploring our options and waiting on the right deal. Hopefully we will make an actual purchase soon.....
