Question about bad breath in child..

My dd is almost 7. She hasn't lost a single baby tooth yet. She does have a loose tooth that won't come out. She goes in on the 11th to have it removed. I noticed tonight while she's sleeping on my lap (she's sick with a sore throat.) Her breath is awful!. Like I can't even have her breath near my face...is this normal? Should I be concerned? Its like wicked bad morning breath and we brushed her teeth before bed...

It's from her being sick. It's normal.

Both my kid's get this when they're sick. Especially in the morning with the post nasal drip. I just make sure they drink lots of water.

^^^^^ yeah that we call it Buffalo Breath. But it is common with sinus stuff and sore throats to get rank breath

I would also say it's because she's sick.

Just a side note: I recently took my 6yo DD in for her teeth cleaning and mentioned she had been having bad breath (she'd been perfectly healthy) so I asked them to check it out. The hygenist noticed that my DD was mouth breathing the whole time. Apparently, this dries out the mouth, killing the good bacteria in the mouth and allowing the bad bacteria to flourish which causes bad breath.
