How long to fast for the 1 hr GD test?

My OB doesn't have you fast either. Just said not to eat a carb or sugar heavy meal before the appt.

The fasting at my office is only for the 3 hr test.

I was told 'no fasting' but not to eat a tremendous amount of sugar!

I too was told not to fast for the one hour.

and I don't remember for the 3 hour if I did or not (did it for both my children)

Thanks! I ate an egg breakfast then went in for the test 3 or 4 hours later.

The lady in the lab was really confused because she said I was supposed to fast for 12 hours then they do the blood draw, then 2 hours later do another blood draw. I'm wondering if the rules have changed or something and that this is a more routine way to do it now. She was able to confirm with the doctor that I can do a 1 hour test (which is all I had time for considering childcare) with no fasting and just 1 draw at the end. So it all worked out I guess. But I still find it strange that there is so much variation in the testing requirements.

My midwife didn't have me fast at all. I drank the drink an hour before my appointment and then wasn't suppose to eat/drink after that until my blood was drawn.

My practice (mix of OB's and Midwives) don't make you fast anymore.
I didn't even know I was gonna do a test at my 8wk intake appt, but due to my mom's diabetes, they had me do one then and another at 28wks I think.
I'm the weird one that likes those drinks, so it doesn't bother me.

Results came back at 86 mg/dL. I think that's well under the levels they would be concerned about, so I should be in the clear. First pregnancy had a similar low level as well. Happy to not have to worry about this again any time soon.

Are you doing the 3 hour glucose test? You fast for 12 hours for hat one.
