Thanks. I had the Paragard copper IUD which works a bit differently, making things toxic. I didn't understand that an egg can be fertilized, but is not able to implant so to miscarry or have an eptopic pregnancy. Mirena tries to prevent the egg and sperm from fertilization (although it apparently doesn't do a great job). Anyhow, it's out and I'll never have an IUD again!

Yea the IUD is very iffy... I don't ever talk or comment on this much because its a sore spot with me but in 2008 I had a chemical pregnancy on the IUD. At the time I completely listened to my doctor (which I shouldn't have) and got another right away to replace the other with the thought that, "oh it must have to be changed!". I later researched and later got the other out and it messed with my fertility I think. I had 2 IUDs back to back for 5 yrs time total. eek. If you find a good form of BC let me know! I'll be needing one soon. lol
