What do natural contractions feel like?

I've had two natural labors and both felt very different!

My first, the contractions radiated all around.

My second, they concentrated in the lower back and belly.

Both were extremely intense and worse than period cramps (and I get bad ones).

Dull, throby period-like cramps that come in waves. At first the beginnings and endings are subtle, so they're hard to time, but they start to increase in frequency and intensity and its easier to time them. Try not to overthink this, remember it's supposed to be a very natural thing. When the time actually comes, you will know. Best wishes mama.

Thank you all for your replies. I ended up being induced again and went from zero to delivery in an hour and a half. The contractions were crazy bad but fast!
