Re: Is Tide really okay?
I use the Tide PODS. The powder gave my son a rash, no matter how much I rinsed, I had to totally strip them to get him to stop breaking out. The liquid worked ok, but not as well as I hoped. I got some samples of the PODS and they were incredible! I wash every 3 days, I wet pail our prefolds, and use 1 pod in the wash.

Tide is perfectly fine. Of the scent bothers you just do an extra rinse.

Re: Is Tide really okay?
Tide powder and hard water here. I switched to try several other things because I read Tide was "bad" for CD BIG mistake! Stripped and back with Tide.

Re: Is Tide really okay?
At our last house we had a top loader and hard-ish water. I used liquid biokleen detergent. I use liquid because somewhere I learned that powder doesn't dissolve well in hard water. So I would recommend using a liquid.
Now i have a water softener and a FL so I use a powder for diapers (still using up the liquid above for clothes). I'd worry about what tide is covering up. I also would not be comfortable with a leftover smell. Especially on diapers --

Re: Is Tide really okay?
I used Crunchy Clean for hard water when my daughter was just breastfeeding. Once solid food hit we got the stinkies (ammonia) and then I switched to tide powder (he) because we have an h.e. machine front -loader.

Laundry Detergent http://www.pinstripesandpolkadots.com/basics.htm Mommy here is allergic to tide. Additives decrease diaper absorbency, among other things. And, I don't trust Proctor and Gamble http://www.pg.com/productsafety/search_results.php?searchtext=Tide&category=ingred ients&submit=Search |
