OH HOLY MESS! Disposable gel innerds all over my washer!
I opened the washer and...OH CRAP! Yucky gel explosion all over my washer from my 6 year old's disposable night time pull up that apparently never made it to the trash! Sticky gel all over the load of clothes it snuck in with! I have NO idea how to begin cleaning this up. I'm afraid if I run it again it will clog up the washer somehow. I could try to shake the gel off each item before running the washer again but it is so sticky I'm not sure that will work. Advice?
And just when I was getting to be caught up on laundry... Dang it.

Re: OH HOLY MESS! Disposable gel innerds all over my washer!
One of the reasons I would rather use cloth than disposables. I've had this happen WAAAAAY too many times in the past. Yuck. Wash wash wash. Keep running loads and rewashing the clothes that are gelled up. It rinses out eventually.

Re: OH HOLY MESS! Disposable gel innerds all over my washer!
I've done this, not a fun discovery!!!
I re-washed the clothes with salt instead of detergent. The salt is supposed to destroy the gel somehow. I think I used 1/2 cup in my top-loader, but it's been a while, you might want to google around for amounts! OR A lot of people put the clothes in the dryer and let it run a full cycle. Shake the clothes off outside. You would need to run another cycle on your washing machine and wipe it out as well. Good luck

It is much easier to remove when it is dry that said I wouldn't put them in the dryer you can damage your dryer. I would shake off as much as you can then hang to dry shake the rest off then rewash. (it will turn back into hard pellets when dry)

Re: OH HOLY MESS! Disposable gel innerds all over my washer!
Hahaha I did that a long time ago. Went into the pail instead of the trash. I did put the things in the dryer before I noticed it, and it messed up the dryer, too. I just manually cleaned out the washer with a bucket, rag and a little dish soap. Washed the dipes again and they were okay to put into the dryer that I manually cleaned while they were washing again. Use the advice above, though. It might be faster. I didn't want to run the machine again, but that would definitely work.
