Does the omni have a snap as well? Is there any reason the echo is better than the omni say, even if you only plan to use the snap/AI2 feature (basically never use the pocket)?
Is there a snap for a stuffed inserts too?

^^what she said. Also since the Echos are narrower in the crotch (by about an inch), the less fabric make them the trimmer option on a newborn. Both have the adjustable legs so you would still get a good fit leakwise but the omni is going to look bulkier.
