1ply merino knits for night

Has anyone used anything like Malabrigo 1-ply merino worsted/aran weight knitted woolies for night?

I have a pair of longies that someone is interested in buying to use at night but I'm not sure it will work. I never used them at night. I always used felted or jersey wraps. I think I've read in various places that sturdier, heavier weight yarns are better for night and that the softer and lesser plies will wick.

I don't want to sell her something that won't work for what she wants. She says she doesn't have much experience with wool and I don't want to turn her off from it because she's not using the best option for her needs.
