Any tips for chickenpox in diaper area?
So....
DH had shingles two weeks ago. My older two have had the chickenpox vax (because I thought that since everyone we knew had the shot they wouldn't get exposed to it and would have to get the vax anyways). DS seems to be having a mild breakout, DD1 seems fine. But, the baby is almost 5 months, and she is getting spots on her scalp and in her diaper area...she is EBF so I don't know if she'll get it full blown or maybe a mild case... Anyways, she has some spots in her diaper area. Any tips for the most comfortable way to diaper her during the breakout? Any recommendations on creams/ointments? Other tips?

Awww
My older 2 caught chicken pox accidentally when #2 was about that age. He was EBF so I was told he might not a full blown case and might not get immunity. He did though and I have the photos and titers to prove it. What worked best was lots of baking soda baths to soothe the itch. He did end up with a fever and was pretty miserable with lots of itchy spots for a few days but ended up doing fine with it. If I remember right we used only BG pockets with him back then and we didn't have any issues since I know we only bought sposies once when he was a newborn. Hope she gets well soon!

This thread seemed to have a lot of suggestions. If you want to go the zinc cream route, Burt's bees diaper cream is made of zinc. I have a tube that's only been used once. I was trying to sell it but I would FFS it to you, just pm me! Also some TTO diluted in coconut oil might help, and that would definitely be fine for cloth diapers. Good luck!
