sewers: how to make extra newborn insert?

Hi! so i bought a bunch of thx newborn diapers, but heard they don't have the greatest absorbancy.

SO i bought a yard of 500wt organic bamboo fleece, and a yard of zorb. i want to make some lay in inserts to add extra absorbancy. how do i do it the simplest?

I'm thinking it'd be easiest to stick to 1 material, are 2 layers of the bamboo fleece going to really add much? it seems really thin still, even though it's the heaviest i could find!

Should i do a layer of zorb under a layer of organic bamboo and just serge them together? that's a bit more work, lol. what would you suggest?

the zorb needs to be sandwiched between fabric...so you'll have to do three layers

Depends on what kind of zorb. If it's the white felty stuff, it has to be sandwiched between layers of another fabric. So a layer of zorb sandwiched in layers of the obf would make a lovely doubler. If it's "zorb 2", which already is sandwhiched in bamboo jersey and has either a quilted or dimpled pattern on it, then you could just use it alone.

A full obf soaker is usually 6 layers of 16-22 oz obf. So if it's 500g, that's around 17 oz. 2 layers of obf are approximately the same absorption as one layer of zorb. So 4 layers of obf would be about the same as an obf/zorb/obf sandwich.

Hahaha. That's what I thought when I quickly read the title. I wondered why we were talking about sewers. I thought it was another laundry question until I realized the pronunciation could go another way.

i did 3 layers of towel like pilloow case & finished end after pulling through.
