Turning Prefolds into snappable AI2 inserts for daycare
So there's been a few thread recently about people wanting to use tri-fold prefolds and covers at daycare but unsure if they are simple enough.
Last night I had a thought, to turn Prefolds into snappable AI2 inserts for daycare. If you get a AI2 covers with snaps, size 20 KAM snaps, and KAM pliers this shouldn't be too tough. (or I guess you could add snaps to a cover -- I would worry more about messing up and causing leaks though) I had a best bottom trainer here and a softbum cover and their snaps were compatible with size 20 KAM snap. I'm curious if the new AI2 cover from imagine uses size 20 snaps. (GroVia does not use KAM snaps). I was thinking a cover with 2 snaps would be best to hold insert into cover. First 2 snaps would be to hold together the tri-fold. After folding, a snap in the middle of one edge & one at the middle of the opposite crease to snap the tri-fold together. Then one at the top and the bottom to snap into the cover. I would probably put these snaps on the flap side, so the "middle"/back of the tri-fold facing out. This way no snaps are touching baby. Unsnap and wash. ![]() Anyway, I hope this helps someone I may just try it myself someday.BTW: maybe to simplify some and use with any cover -- if you just added the snaps to secure prefold into a tri-folded insert -- maybe that would make it simple enough?

Re: Turning Prefolds into snappable AI2 inserts for daycare
It doesnt look like she makes these anymore and it doesnt need to be stay dry, but this with snaps would work perfectly and you wouldnt have to alter the prefold.
