Don't worry about white noise. It is actually really helpful and baby can sleep better because they arent being woken up by all the noises you make. Better to have white noise than have to be super quiet while baby is sleeping!

Well she slept pretty darn well in the swing last night. Not my favorite and not a long term solution, but we'll try the crib again after a while!

We followed a few friends' suggestions and got the Rock n play sleeper-works like a charm!
