what does your ob?/ midwife/ whomever for home births wear in delivery?

another thread got me thinking about what does your midwife/ whomever delivers wear? anything special? my ob has a particular head bandanas for general delivery and c sections. he wears a mask that reminds me of welding mask but all clear for 2 out of 3 kids he was here for (probably it for kids for us)...last made it out before he went on vacation. my first kid the gal didn't wear anything but the scrubs I think but not my main ob.... my ob was dressed for meetings as he took over the clinic after one of the last owners passed away.

My doctor and two midwives have always worn scrubs. I think the doctor wore a facemask-thing, my midwives never did. I am not sure what my homebirth midwife will wear, I would guess comfy clothes.

My midwife often shows up for prenatals in scrubs, so I expect that's what she will arrive in for the birth.

I always find it disturbing when everyone at the hospital "gowns up" for the pushing. It seems so medical and unnecessary and cold. I mean, you really don't need to cover your hair and shoes to catch a baby.

I think the ones who wear the masks and hair coverings are doing it to avoid being covered in fluid if there's a "messy" water break, or whatever. I've definitely read stories of births where the person at the business end of the birth got covered, and I don't think I'd like that too much myself!

At my homebirths, my midwives have come in their own clothes - jeans and shirts - or scrubs. No masks or head coverings, just gloves when necessary.

My home birth midwives both wore normal clothes - a loose fitting comfy top and pants. And a change of clothes.

My water bag had to be artifically ruptured both times, and the first it got EVERYWHERE. Like, soaked the midwife. She didn't seem to care, just changed clothes

With baby #2 my midwives wore scrub bottoms and a comfy top.

With this last baby my L&D nurse had to change clothes after I delivered since my water broke and got her all wet, and baby came quickly after.
