Indoor Swing?
Does anyone have an indoor swing in their house? My SPD kiddo could really benefit from one, but I'm not sure what would be best. The kids have a playroom in our finished basement that has a drop ceiling so the beams are easy to access. I've also wondered if a frame that sat on the floor would work. Does anyone have experience with indoor swings that could offer some advice or input on what might work?

Re: Indoor Swing?
We have had several swings in the house. I currently have an Ikea one that is wooden. You might get a few for variety like one regular swing, a disk kind, and maybe a hammock. DH got some really nice bolts that are designed to hang a porch swing that are great.

Re: Indoor Swing?
Second Ikea.
Or even those "seasaw" swings where you can put two people facing back to back. Those are fun and a nice change to traditional swings. Last edited by rchamberlain; 02-15-2013 at 06:59 PM. |

Re: Indoor Swing?
The other part of the question now. If you have a ceiling suspended swing.. what are you using to suspend it? Product links would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Indoor Swing?
We have a platform swing in our therapy room that we can change out to a neuroprene or the Ikea swing. My son loves it. My husband got all the bolts and chain from HomeDepot or Lowes, forget which one but the hardware to hang it was not expensive and it is very sturdy. He bolted it into one of our ceiling beams.

Re: Indoor Swing?
We have the wooden rings from Ikea (like gymnastic rings) in our house. They are awesome, and all the neighborhood kids want to play on them. The swing came with everything it needed to install. Ikea also had some wooden swings, and a chair type swing (my nephews have that in their playroom).
ETA: oops, I didn't realize I was posting in the SN forum...I accessed the link from the main page.

Re: Indoor Swing?
We have a Playaway Rainy Day kit with a regular swing, a net swing, and a trapeze bar. It has been a lifesaver. DS (PDD-NOS) has a lot of sensory issues and lives on this swing.
