Bleaching PUL? Will it ruin it?

I wondered how things are going with this. I have always heard and advised 'no bleach'....but I'm not sure if it's my water or what - I just can't kick the stink without it! I have been adding about 1T of bleach for every load...I'm so afraid it will ruin my PUL.

It will not ruin your PUL. I've been using bleach on the same diapers for about 5-6 years now and they are FINE. I would imagine if you are soaking in it or using like a cup of it it could cause problems but otherwise no issues.

Bleach is corrosive. Fabrics and plastics corrode. Over time, that's gonna happen, and corrosive materials like bleach will shorten the lifespan of your diapers whenever they reach "critical mass" of all the factors it takes for the materials to react that way. Because that point occurs at an unpredictable interval, you hear a lot of, "No bleach," warnings.

Use at your discretion. Definitely I use it from time to time. It's contributed to some cracked PUL for sure, but I also have PUL stuff in my stash that's older than the stuff that cracked. There are just too many factors to know how much bleach/how many exposures is too much.

Me too. Only because I couldn't get my diapers to consistently get clean without it.
