This happened to me on Craigslist...I sold a great cell phone for so little money to a woman who said she was desperate and needed the phone to keep up with her kids. And she relisted the phone for way more than she paid. Ugh. Whatever.

Re: A bit annoyed
bdhutier - excellent way to turn this around for the positive. I agree.
nw2barganing - although you may feel like someone took advantage, and they very well may have, it helps the heart to consider what you've done a very good deed. Perhaps to avoid this feeling in the future, stick more firmly to your prices, carefully update and edit your posts, and maybe most difficult: try not to be swayed by buyers' stories of hardship. If your prices originally posted were fair and reasonable but your buyer can't afford them, then perhaps you should both move on to another transaction. Good luck. =] |

Re: A bit annoyed
I agree with bdhutier. It feels wrong and makes you not want to do nice things for people, but ultimately I believe the Bible, where it says, "give and it will be given to you." Perhaps not from the same people you gave to!
On the other hand, I have learned not to look once I have done FFS or sold something dirt cheap. I don't even want to know what happens to some of that stuff. All that matters is it's not mine anymore. FWIW I think there are a lot of sob stories on DS, lots of drama, and plenty of people who are on here just looking for something for free. It is impossible sometimes to tell who is and who isn't, but if I have any inkling (and it sounds like you could not have known), I move on to the next mama.

Re: A bit annoyed
not much can be done about that, it is really lousy though.. and it makes those who genuinely are tight budgeted and struggling(like myself) look badly..
that being said, she has to live with her decisions..

Re: A bit annoyed
Dont let one situation change the way you feel about helping someone out. I have gotten much needed help from kind mamas and I pay it forward whenever I have the chance. I am grateful for people like you
