weaning to milk question!
DD is ebf and coming up on a year old next week...boo
![]() Any how, although I plan on continuing to bf, I'd like to introduce milk and have her take a bottle a bed time. I don't want to use cows milk at all. Goat milk was my first choice since its closet to BM, but she hates it ![]() If I was to wean to almond milk...would that suffice, or do I have to mix with coconut milk to obtain full nutritious benefits? I have heard that you have to mix because one don't have enough fat and other didn't have enough? |

Re: weaning to milk question!
If your still nursing and its just a going to bed thing you can have it be a treat- no need to worry about nutrients as most of your child's nutrients will be from BM and then from solids. The milk would just be an extra to help her calm down to go to sleep. My YDS, I weaned to a bedtime sippy of water when I wanted to be done with nighttime feedings. It allowed him to have the fluids he wanted but no worries about his teeth if he fell asleep with it or it sitting out overnight and him drinking some the next morning. Good luck- it took most of my kids a while to drink milk. Of course, I just did cows milk but I would assume it would be similar to other milks.

But I'm eventually going to wean and not sure what's best...one or the other or mixing. She's going to be hard to wean off the breast so I'm trying to gradually start now lol.
