Re: Clothing Allowence
I would make sure to buy good shoes, socks, unders, ect... I lurk here a lot as I've been looking into it, and I know when I buy shoes for my own son it sets me back a good amount because i don't buy cheap shoes.

I second the suggetion for the embroidered backpack. For kids who may have a lot of upheaval through the years this might actually stick with them and that would mean the world to a kid in the system. Also socks and undershirts/onsies are so expensive! I could gave that gone in a heartbeat. We've had 3 placements, zero clothing allowance.

Re: Clothing Allowence
I'm jealous!! I just got my two nieces last week and only got $75 for each of them. And each voucher could only be used in one place at one time and only certain places accept them.
For your question....yes definitely buy ahead if you don't have them long enough to wear it all you can send it with them. I think your supposed to anyway.

Re: Clothing Allowence
Just a couple questions I saw asked. This is the only clothing allowance that the kids will get - ever. We were able to buy enough to last them 12+ months. The prognosis for the case is not good. Chances are, we will be able to adopt the boys if a family member doesn't step up.
