Anyone else addicted to serging?

I can't stop. I'm not all that talented, but serging is so fast and easy, I've been making zillions of things: cloth wipes, burp cloths, ETPFs, embellished PFs, and inserts/doublers up the wazoo!

I even let DD pick some fabric and made a whole "Big Sister" baby care set with a mini burp cloth, wipes, and a fitted diaper for when her little sister arrives!

LOL! Yep I love serging. It's so satisfying!

I've been wanting a serger for ages now... and resisting because I kept telling myself that I'm only sew as a hobby and I do not want to get into more projects (I've always got more than enough on the go, I don't need to add to it)... BUT, I recently taught myself a new sewing obsession and I DESPERATELY want a serger now so I can make more more more!! I'm saving up... a serger will be my birthday present to me!

I just got a serger a few weeks ago! Its a lot harder than it seems! Ive been practicing but I cant get the end right (after you've served all around, how do u finish?!). I leave a long strand of serged thread then cut it but it always looks funky. Lol! I need someone here to show me!

There are a couple ways, but I usually just let the end overlap by 1/2" or so, leave a long tail, then put a dot of OK To Wash It fabric glue at the join. Wash once, then clip off the tail for a clean finish.

I always enjoy the look of a finished serged project! My last project was a hanging pocket organizer for my son's schoolwork. I planned it out so the serging showed all around the edge -- so that I could continually admire the overlocked edges every time I looked at it

I'm not addicted, although I try to serge as many personal projects as I can

I love my serger! It makes all normal projects look amazing and so professional!
Im so addicted to it that when I made DD some Barbie clothes I was mad that they were too small to serge on, lol. Just another reason for me to hate Barbie!

I bought a used one at a garage sale a couple months ago and I am seriously afraid of it..... I need to watch some tutorials and start using it!
