Fundal height low but U/S shows a big baby

I have been having some serious swelling combined with high blood pressure (I usually run 100/60 or 110/65 and it's been 130/80 or 140/90ish) but with no protein in my urine, no headaches etc, so they aren't worried about pre-eclampsia, just monitoring me closely for now.

Anyways, last week during my routine appointment when I was 36weeks, my fundal height had not changed in 2 weeks so they wanted to do a U/S for growth. I am not concerned since I typically have small babies, my first being 6lbs2oz and my second was 6lbs even but I was curious about the 3rd baby's size. Turns out, she measured 38w6d for femur length and 40w1d for head size, estimated her weight around 7lbs1oz and I still had 20 days to go! lol I have always thought this one would be the biggest, just based on how I feel and how much weight I have gained this time around but now I am REALLY curious what she will weigh and if I should return the newborn clothes haha! At the OB yesterday, doc said she is a "good size, probably 6 or 7lbs" and just look at these cheeks!!!

Can't wait to kiss them!
10 more days!!!

Re: Fundal height low but U/S shows a big baby

I only know one person who had a baby the estimated size or larger predicted from a late term u/s. Everyone else had a considerably smaller baby.
My kids are skinny at birth outside of their cheeks But they have large heads and long length for their gest. age and weight. If you'd had previously smaller babies I would lean towards that again. But who knows right

My u/s the morning before DD2 was born measured her at 7 lbs 14 oz and she was 8 lbs 5 oz at birth.

Ddcc!

Yup. Happened to me last pregnancy. I was measuring 27 weeks at 31 weeks. Did an ultrasound and baby was huge. 4 pounds.

Repeated it at 36 weeks and I was measuring 33 weeks. Baby was 7 pounds. The day I had her I was 39w3d measuring 36 weeks. OB guessed her weigh to be 8.12 ounces. She was born just hours later at 8.13!

Re: Fundal height low but U/S shows a big baby

I had IUGR with the 1st and the 2nd had the cord around her 5 TIMES which was probably not allowing her to get enough nutrition. Both were more than 39 weeks when I gave birth, too. I am kinda hoping she is 7+ pounds though because my 2nd had a hard time regulating body temp being so small and I feel like a bigger baby would be easier for breastfeeding, too. Either way, in 10 days or less I will know how accurate that guess was!!!!

thanks for the input, ladies!

They did a late u/s with my second to check fluid levels (41.5 weeks) and I asked how big he was, they said eight and a half pounds and I almost fell off the exam bed! My first was 6 even, full term. I wasn't measuring big at all. He was born a few days later at 8-13. With zion I kept complaining to my doc that she felt bigger than my other babies, my doc didn't really seem to think so, but she was 8-15...and born three weeks earlier than my 8-13 baby! My doctor says she doesn't know where I put these babies, because I always measure on the smaller side!

sorry, i'm really bad at autocorrect and I don't like proof reading!
