Before I was a parent....

Before I was a parent I caught myself saying "When I have kids, I won't do x, y, z." Yea right!

I had "free time".

I never took naps. Now I find myself napping when DD does even though there's a million things I should be doing.

I didn't lose things before. my time. Work.

Now kids programs onTV like Barney. No work outside of home.more laundry. More loves and kisses and happy moments like kids wearing stuffed animal clothes instead of sleeping and like or the sayings on when you are a patent your say things I think thread on here....like stop playing with potty.....

Before I was a parent, I was completely out of shape, overweight but always put together.

Now, I am in the best shape of my life because I made it a priority to show my children a heathly lifestyle. But I am never dressed as nicely as I use to be. Yoga pants, bare face and a ponytail have become my new everyday look.

Before I was a parent: I had no excuse for why I was always too sleepy by 10 p.m. to stay out late. Or for going without makeup. Or for watching cartoons. Or for buying Fruit Loops.

Having kids is an awesome excuse for being me!

Before kids
1) I slept through the night and in on weekends, now I value nights I sleep through and I'm up at 6:30 on weekends wondering why DD isn't up yet
2) I had $ that wasn't all earmarked for mortgage, tuition or activities
3) grocery shopping wasn't an adventure to find out if food contains a trace of gluten or too much fructose (and I got to eat what I wanted and not hide the good fruit that she can't have)
4) got together with mt girlfriends almost every weekend to actually go out, not for playdates once a month
5) I didn't have a concept on unconditional love or how amazing a hug from those tiny little arms could mean
I gave up lots but gained so, so much more and I wouldn't change it for a minute!!!
