Vinegar & hard water

I've seen so much conflicting info on this it makes my head spin. Is vinegar okay to use either in the prewash or rinse if you have moderately hard water?

It really depends on the mineral content of your water. I have pretty hard water but can use vinegar without problems. In fact, it really helps get out broccoli and Brussels sprouts smelling pee!
