Chart Help - Short cycle or Mid-cycle bleeding?

http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/fd5ba

I am new to charting. I had an IUD removed in Jan. Please excuse my Feb chart - I was ill for a good chunk of the month.

Anyway -- this cycle around CD16 I started to spot (heavily, both brown and red blood at times). I'd almost call it a light period at CD16 for 4-5 days... how would I be able to tell if it was a super short cycle with a light period or if I'm expecting my AF in 4-5 days? I did require light tampons/light pads -- normally however my flow is very heavy.

Was it a mirena? That thing did wacky things to my cycle for about 3 months after getting it taken out.

Yep. The first month after it was out seemed pretty normal - so normal I was pretty surprised, I had positive OPKs around CD14-15, 28 day cycle while being sick. Regular length period, regular heavy flow.

I feel great this month and I... have no idea what is going on. Should I bother with an HPT in a week? Maybe I should be using OPKs? No idea

Hmmmmm. Fertility friend would only recognize it as the beginning of a new cycle if you marked the bleeding as light, medium or heavy. Spotting aside, I can't see on ur chart that ovulation has occurred, as there is no thermal shift. (Higher post-o temps) I would guess that the fertile fluid you observed on those few days was ur body gearing up to O, but ovulation didn't actually occur. I am no expert, but I'm pretty familiar w/charting have been doing it for several years. As long as u are temping at same time each day, when O happens, ff will pick it up. HTH

Yeah I wasn't really sure what to mark it as, so I just left it as spotting as I wasn't really sure if it was a cycle or not. It definitely wasn't my normal cycle. I guess I'll just wait and see...

If it was light I would say it was a new cycle. You are still in the withdrawl stage of you IUD and bleeding when ovulation should occur instead of ovulating is normal. Your FSH and LH need time to level out and work right again.
