choroid plexis cyst?

Anyone else's anatomy scan show one of these? A choroid plexis cyst. My ultrasound place just send the info over to the ob office and only gave measurements and one note, being that there was a cpc in the brain. My ob said without them interpreting the measurement data she can't tell me everything is ok and that if I want I can go to a high risk specialist for a more thorough scan. She said it is fairly common in babies but is a soft marker for trisomy 18 which is incompatible with life. I'm trying not to worry it was still hard to hear that she can't tell me either way. In the message she said... "I can't tell you your baby is ok for sure." I think I will go for the scan just to ease my concerns, praying my little one is okay.

Re: choroid plexis cyst?

I'd do it, otherwise I think the not knowing would drive me crazy. Crossing my fingers for you that all is well!

Crashing your ddc.

My son had one. It was gone by 24 weeks. They almost always are innocent. 99 percent of babies with CPC have them disappear by 30 weeks. It is very rare for it to be associated with T18 (less than 1 percent of babies with CPC have t18 )

I would do the detailed scan but likely it will just disappear.

My baby had one at our 19w5d scan so they sent us to a higher ultrasound 3-4 days later and it was gone. I read 99% of the time it resolves itself.

Ok so going for an ultrasound on friday. I'm keeping my hopes up that everything is fine. Just keeping busy working and such so I won't keep thinking about it.

not in this ddc, but ds 2 had one at our anatomy scan. Was gone on a followup US. If everything else was fine, it is probably nothing. What a horrible dr to leave a message saying that!

Ddcrashing
My last baby had bilateral cysts present at 20 wk scan. Went to mfm for more ultrasounds. Cysts were gone by 36 wks. He's now a super healthy 10 month old.

Praying the same goes for your lo

They will look at all organs with special attention to heart for defects and to see if hands open and close and if feet are turned in which are all markers for tri 18.

Re: choroid plexis cyst?

My dd had one on her 20 week scan...I decided not to follow up since there was nothing to really do about it anyway, and she's a perfectly healthy 2-year-old now. I totally relate to the anxiety, though! In lieu of any other "markers," I think everything is okay! Hugs.
