What happened to Parcel Post?

I KNOW this has been answered somewhere but I am never on DS these days, except occasionally to sell. I am trying to send something that weighs 1 lb. 2 oz and it's costing me $9!?!?! I don't see a Parcel Post option (or the equivalent) on Paypal so all the options are expensive. Help, mamas!

You have to go to the PO to send that way now I believe. And it may have a different name, too? Standard? I forget.

Re: What happened to Parcel Post?

there is only parcel select now. You have to go to the PO (unless shipping by ebay). Also, you should get some priority mail padded flate rate envelopes (have to order them on usps.com). They can fit a TON and are almost always the best option for things over 13 ounces.

Parcel select is basically parcel post, but the prices have increased about 22% for this service, so it might be cheaper to send it Priority.
