For simplicity, what if you just add some chopped nuts to the cut up fruit? I've also added marshmallows, chocolate chips, etc (not all at the same time) to change things up a bit.

Oh just thought of something - pioneer womans yogurt cream. Super fast, easy, and sooooooo good! Google fir the exact recipe but its just yogurt cream and brown sugar.
You may want to run about five miles before eating it though ![]()

The marshmallow suggestion brought to mind taffy apple salad. Not exactly the most healthy fruit salad, but totally delicious anyway and not terribly expensive to make.
