Re: THEN and NOW

I will update with photos ASAP but wanted to mention that you may look into eliminating certain allergens out of your diet to see if it makes a difference. With DS he had reflux but we were able to control it by my going gluten free. I started a month before this LO and so glad I did because she reacted to it when I accidentally had something with gluten.

What made you decide on gluten? I did dairy elimination but it didn't make it do away completely

Re: THEN and NOW

I'm already gluten intolerant, and I tried eliminating dairy with my first, but it made no difference for me.

I first eliminated dairy and it helped some but not a lot so I looked at the list of major allergens (eggs, wheat, dairy, soy, nuts and peanuts). My diet is not high in soy or nuts and wasn't eating much eggs either so thought I would try wheat first. I adopted a gluten free diet and it made a big difference so I stuck with it. They say that a lot of babies grow out of it by six months so about 5 months old I tried it out by eating some food with the allergens and sure enough he did fine through the rest of breast feeding to 2 yrs old.

Maybe I should try gluten too and see if it helps further.

The ped GI we saw at Boston Children's Hospital with DD1 said that a large percentage of dairy intolerant babies are also intolerant of soy proteins. I was dairy and soy free with DD1 until she was 14mos and just eliminated them both again after finding blood and mucous in many of DD2s diapers in the past 1-2 weeks. If you google MSPI you'll find lots of tips and recipes. Also a bunch on pinterest!
