Non-tomato/non-dairy pizza sauce?

If you were gonna make pizza with no dairy and no tomato product, what would you use as sauce?

Yup! I also like pesto with walnuts because they are so good for you. I've even changed it up by using sage instead of basil, and it's fabulous with red bell peppers!

I don't do sauce quite a bit. I make pizza dough, brush on olive oil, and top with thinly sliced red onions, avocado slices, arugula, any other veggies really, and then put in the oven at 500 degrees for 12 mins. Sometimes I top with feta but that's dairy so I won't recommend that to you

We love pesto for pizza (actually, most of the time, it's just basil, olive oil, garlic, and salt). You can also make white sauce (we use coconut milk or almond milk and non-dairy butter)- yummy!

I agree with the pesto recommendations - but check labels if it's store bought as the traditional recipe includes parmesan.

Garlic, evoo, pinch of red chili flake

Taco pizza! Mix a can of refried beans with 1 c salsa, spread over pizza like sauce. Add taco cheese and toppings. Yum! This is a halfhearted imitation of the recipe from budgetbytes, and it is really freakin good.

Romesco sauce - roasted red peppers and almonds, evoo in a food processor or blender (probably want to google that one as I think Im forgetting something).

There's a local joint that serves this and it is heavenly.

Garlic sauce http://corkandspoon.wordpress.com/20...e-pizza-sauce/ . use an unflavored sub milk like rice milk. We actually use a vanilla flavored milk, its slightly sweet that way though.

Taco or mexican pizza
