Anyone have cervical irritation with the transvaginal ultrasound? Mine is scheduled for June 11th but we're still debating if we will do it. My cervix bled after my pap yesterday and that was scary enough.

I had a transvaginal and then a pap on Friday and had no spotting.

Ultrasounds are unnecessary during a normal pregnancy. You can wait to have an abdominal ultrasound (which is also medically unnecessary, not proven to be harmless, and might cause the casade of interventions common in so many labors). If your dr says they need the transvaginal ultrasound, consider switching doctors.

This blog post has some good links and information to consider.
I am btw totally not bashing ultrasounds just giving information some people may not have considered

Re: 1st Ultrasound

All due respect, & I very much understand advocating for the fewest intrusions into a pregnancy as possible, however I know quite a few of us have had repeated losses & u/s, even repeat u/s & transvag u/s are a reassurance & well worth it...the decrease in my stress & anxiety level really balances out the vague possibility of risk related to the u/s for me.

Re: 1st Ultrasound

Right, I totally get that and I'm not trying to persuade anyone that it's harmful, but I do want to reassure someone that it is okay to refuse if that's their inclination.

ETA: I'm not trying to make anyone feel bad. Just wanted to put that out there because I know that sometimes things can be misunderstood when on the internet/in written word
