Re: What would you name your...

I agree with others, stop trying to make them match. Even if you want to match them... stop focusing on it come up with names and maybe it will work out...

To pick out names my husband and I create lists of names we like for a while. We then swap the lists and see what names from both lists can go on our "final list".

I really like http://www.nymbler.com/ for helping narrow down names (say if there are some boys names you like you can put them in and ask for it to girl you similar girls names). I also visit babynamewizard.com because we don't want names are that too popular at the moment and it has a good popularity graph.

List to names you hear everyday.. evaluate every one

I don't like rhymy names or names that go together (Luke/Laura, Mathew/Melissa, etc). I also don't name my babies until I feel a connection to a name for them.

But for fun if I were to have twin girls today I would probably name them Maddalena and Giulietta.

Re: What would you name your...

We went to the hospital with a "short list" of names for DD when she was born. We'll probably do the same this time around. I would focus more on names that are the style you like & that the full name, first, middle & last, sound good together. Also, that there aren't any obvious opportunities for mockery My own preference is for names that "go" together, rather than "matching" or rhyming names.

I am not big on matchy matchy names....just go with your top two girl names that you love...who cares if they match

but you know that I would name my twin girls:

For me if i had to choose today I like

Blaire Kathryn
Paige Elizabeth

Or if I had to include Ruth I like

Blaire Kathryn
Brooklyn Ruth
(Both 1st names start w/ B)

Or

Katelyn Ruth
Brooklyn Jane
(Both 1st names have 2 syllables & end in LYN & both middle names are one syllable & are old fashion)

Congrats on your twins!!
