My understanding is that coconut water is like a natural Gatorade. Gives you electrolytes and energy.

Re: What are you post partum must haves?

I use depends for the first day or so after baby, and I use cramp bark for the after-pains. I'm going to try a bottle warmer (hoping to score at a resale or garage sale) for my peri bottle this time around. One thing I hate is having to pee so bad and waiting for the water to warm up to fill the peri bottle! Oh, and I need to come up with a name for that first pp poop. (You know how it is, it's nearly as traumatic as birth!)

I might check out booby tubes. I need a few good shelf-bra tanks too. Enough support to keep nursing pads in place, but still comfy.

Lanolin for sore nipples
A cozy reserved spot on the couch
Flip flops (I seriously swelled up a ton after labor and couldn't wear "real" shoes for a while (also, I recommend a pre-labor pedicure, it was so nice!)
A good water bottle
Comfy nursing tanks and stretchy shorts (for postpartum hot flashes, you do not want to be wearing sweatpants!)
A subscription to netflix if you don't already have one!

Definitely the tucks... those are a must have, and the peribottle is a must. Followed by a ton of stool softeners. Other than that all I really want after labor is a giant burrito Lol!

Just read this . . . after my first pp poop, I walked in the living room and told my husband that DD has a new little sister, but she's in the toilet.

I found a set of empty mustard/ketchup bottles at walgreens that will work as a peri bottle.

I'm sure it is. Guinness used to have an advertising campaign promoting drinking it to boost milk production (with doctor endorsements included!).

Oh perfect! Good idea! I'll look for that next time I happen to be at the store. I found a local medical supply store that has peri bottles, but I don't really want to make the extra trip just for that.
