Can anyone recommend parenting books about introducing and raising siblings? We have one child and are expecting an newbie in the fall. DH and I were both raised as only children and could use some guidence.

Re: Sibling parenting books

I don't know how old your child is, but I have noticed that my son is getting just as excited as we are as this pregnancy progresses.

DH and I are sort of only children, our siblings are MUCH younger then us. DH's brother is 9 years younger, and my next sibling is 12 years younger. So while we had siblings it is hardly what one thinks of with siblings.

Our son is 4.5 years old and will be 2 months shy of 5 when his brother is born (we didn't choose this age gap, it just happened). He talks to my belly and I can tell for him it is starting to feel real. It will I am sure come as a shock when he is here, but I know he will deal with it because he really doesn't have a choice.

I did look at sibling books on Amazon but decided that ultimately they would only help so much. Honestly thinking back on how I was when my sister was born, I don't think any book would have helped me with the changes that were about to happen in my life. And I was 12.
