Tell me about GMD prefolds....

It's been a few years since I have bought them, I'm looking for some prefolds for my dd.

Tell me about GMDs...I'm probably looking at the red edge mediums. How is the sizing? My dd is almost 8 months, 14 lbs., pretty petite. I have some old medium Imagines that are too short in the rise, but the width is okay. The old large Imagines I have are kind of big but I can get them to work on her. I'm thinking the red GMD's are kind of in the middle?

And do you like bleached vs. unbleached vs. organic? I typically prefer bleached but can be easily swayed.

Re: Tell me about GMD prefolds....

I love my reds. We have 30 of them mostly bleached and some organic. They look the same now though. 12 of them are on ther third kid. They are still soft and quilts. Some are on there last leg but they are still usable.

Dd is in them at 22 months and has been since about a yr old. She is just over 20lbs and I do not expect her to make it into the browns. And the green diaper rites which are md are to big for her.

Ah, I have some green DR and they are really big; I use them for a night diaper. Are you snappi'ing or trifolding?

I snappi full time. My 3 month old is about to need reds and she is 13.5-14 lbs. my 2year old was in red from 5 mo(15 lbs) to 23 mo(29 lbs) and moved into browns this week. they show wear because we have hard water and have to rinse a lot. I love them but I have never owned any others.

What do your red measure? I know their measurements changed a few years back.

Re: Tell me about GMD prefolds....

My reds are coming in the mail so I can't speak for their fit on my son, but at 15+ lbs and 3 mo I know that the yellow edge are too small for him. We need something bigger! They should be here by the end of the day (bought used here on the FSOT, so I can report back on the prepped size soon!).
I do have an opinion about bleached/unbleached. Unbleached are softer than bleached! And if they get any sun at all they'll lighten up a lot in color and will look nearly bleached. I've had bleached and unbleached yellows around here for a while and I definitely notice the diff in softness.
Haven't tried the organic though.

I apologize for but im also in the same boat and am looking for something in between the infant size and the reds. I think the reds would be to big but IDK. I was thinking Nicky's yellow edge would be the perfect size. Are Nicky's yellow and DR purple comparable in sizing?
