I do breast when we are out. She prefers bottle at home but I'm not messing around with all that when we are out.

Re: Breast or bottle in a restaurant?

My babies don't take bottles, so its all breasts all the time. I don't use a cover but definitely wear nursing tanks with a top (sometimes just another tank). I believe strongly that what I'm doing isn't wrong/inappropriate, so if someone else has a problem, they are welcome to leave the room, are where I am.

I will not cover up. I will not go to another room. You invite me to your home knowing that I breastfeed, then expect I will do it wherever my baby is hungry. If you ask me to go to another room, expect that I will be packing up and leaving because you've just interfered with a rule of hospitality!

Re: Breast or bottle in a restaurant?

I have done either just kind of depends on the situation. If there were no bottles clean or pumped, I didn't mess with throwing on in the diaper bag. If there was one clean and ready, especially if I had thawed something for when I went to work and then it didn't get used, I would toss it in so it didn't get wasted. And at the restaurant, if the booth was comfortable and I easy trying to eat I usually just nursed, even if I had a bottle with me. But, if I ha a bottle and was trying to finish up my meal and DH or whoever I was with was to finished, I had no problem passing baby and bottle over for someone else to feed so I coul stuff my face.

I rarely if ever used a cover and only left my seat (for car or bathroom or whatever) if baby was screaming and throwing a fit, just like you would do with a screaming toddler. I did remain descreet though by sitting in the corner of the booth, keeping everything else covered, etc.

Honestly... I guess I don't trust supply enough. If baby is hungry, I feel like I should nurse or pump. But just give a bottle... Wouldn't that tell my body that it didn't need to make it? I mean, maybe just every once in awhile?

I tend to think I'd be in pain with my boob clock.

I don't tend to cover up much anymore. But I am of the opinion that there are times when it is more appropriate to cover up.

I was not able to nurse in public so always found someplace as private as possible or bottle fed. If you are comfortable with nursing in public then you should.

I never use bottles. I just use a cover I think I have only had to BF in public like once?

I don't eat out, but I nurse my 2yr old everywhere. I've never really thought of it as something private, I mean, it's just nursing.
