Talking Overdue? passing the baby non-stress test

How many mamas out there overdue?
I am a week and 2 days overdue

At a week overdue they put me to the "machine" I had been there before 3 kids ago. and failed! I think my placenta was fine, just baby too sleepy!

Note: It is a test that tells if your placenta is getting too old to support baby, made possible by watching the baby's heart rate pattern.

SO, this time I asked what they wanted to see, they said 3 big movements in 20 min with a sustained high 15 s higher heart rate....

Well, if they had told me that 3 kids ago, I would have made sure baby would have been active, maybe even schedule my apt to a more active time than baby's NAP TIME! so because of that had to be induced with that kid...

however, I ate KFC grilled breast, on my way to the apointment.... I notice this baby gets active after I eat right the way... you might be different pay attention. most people say with in 30 min of eating baby is active. mine is like 5 min!

Then I had an icecream! (can you tell I didn't want to be induced?) then I had a swig of orange juice, got to the apt late, so they had me wait during my most active time, then they put me on the machine, the only thing they offered was iced water and a quiet room ! ha! that is why most mamas are induced!

Not to worry I had another chicken breast in a bag, with grapes and more OJ, so I did! had a second lunch there.... but what finally did it was putting on my belly the computer... which I had noticed is kicked all the time when I rest it on my belly! so I had no trouble getting out of there in 15-20 min as I had had plenty of movement!

NOW, your Dr might make you stay the full hour. but at least they will not need to buzz! your baby with that stupid buzzer! I had hubby play his toy instruments on my belly... but the computer did the trick!

So, baby placenta is doing great, and baby is thriving well!

Now to wait... I don't mind waiting, I'd rather go natural, but there is nothing like being informed and do things natural. I also asked if I could stimulate too much the baby and have a bad result, they say, no, there is not a thing of overstimulation...

Hope this helps someone....
