Re: bottle most like the breast?

Another update: DD prefers the milk very warm, just a thought for those who are having trouble getting their baby to take a bottle. She will cry and fuss and refuse unless it is really warm even if it is "fresh". Our lactation consultant said to try it that way. Today (July 2) she took 3 oz out of a Tommee Tippee that way.

Update: I tried playtex nurser (had from older dd) - no luck, breastflow (had from older dd) she did okay but the flow was still too drippy for her. I bought a preemie nipple from Dr. Browns, but she didn't like the shape. So I bought a Tommee Tippee, and on the second try she took it with little complaint, and finished the bottle. She latched on and stayed latched better than with any of the others. She didn't gag on the nipple. Thanks for the advice ladies, I think we've found our bottle! Excited since they are available locally.

I also have been doing research on breastfed baby bottles (because my child will go to daycare) and I am going to try TT for sure but also saw the Comotomo which resembles the TT but is completely silicone and available from Target online.

We love comotomo, DS made a smooth transition from breast to bottle and so did my nephew!

I used the Lansinoh bottle at 3 weeks and my daughter took it right away.

I just got one in the mail, and dd took it immediately. It took a little convincing with Tommee Tippee, but the Momma she took without a second thought!

^^^Quick question about your statement above... Are you running the bottle in really warm to hot water? I thought that microwaving breast milk is a no-no, so wanted to check.

How are you warming up the milk? Running it under hot water? I know microwaving is a no-no, so just curious. Looking for new things to try for my stubborn DD!

ETA: Sorry for the double post!

This is the bottle that my DD took to right away and she latched onto it just like when she nurses. I won one in a giveaway right when they were released and I'm so happy I did! It is by far the most like the real thing for us! Her latch was perfect!

Yep, I stick the bottle in a coffee cup of hot water, and then test it. I took the Tommee Tippees that hadn't been opened back to the store and we are going to use the mOmma by Lansinoh, she takes it the best by far.
