This is exactly what we are doing. Well, we are also using the Jr. Notebook as time allows. We are doing Zoology 1-Flying Creatures. But, since we haven't actually started it (even though we were supposed to start this week during our first week of school), I can't comment on how we like it.

Re: Whats your favorite Science curriculum?

We used Apologia last year and while I wanted to love it, I didn't. I liked the narrative of the text, but we just didn't get around to doing the experiments. The girls didn't care for the notebooks (older, not jr) either. This year DS is doing BFSU and DD is doing a standard McGraw Hill free text online. I like that BFSU, while more labor intensive, has the experiments built into the lesson--you have to do them for the lesson to make sense. It seems that I need that "have to" factor. We are both loving it. As for DD and the McGraw Hill, she just wants the "need to know" from science, so that is what we are doing and I'm hoping that she'll sit in on DS's experiments and get a little more in depth knowledge or at least pique her curiousity to explore some things more deeply.

Does apologia teach creationism and young earth? I am trying to pick curriculum and although I don't mind some Christianity in our curriculum I don't plan to teach young earth.

Yes, Apologia teaches young earth and creationism. If you want creationism and old earth, I have heard that Catholic curriculum is where to look.

Thanks. I'll look into that.
