My friend just had her baby at 29 weeks

She was diagnosed with HELLP and hey took him via c-section this morning. Those of you that have btdt what helped you the most? We aren't super close anymore, we see each other a couple times a year, but I want to help however I can. Her little boy is 2 lbs and he is breathing on his own but I'm sure hell be in the nicu for a while.

Ask what she needs. Help getting the house ready? (Probably didn't have a nursery completely set up yet.) A few freezer meals for when he does come home? Someone to clean the house so she can go to the NICU? Help watching other children? There's plenty you can do!

That was the biggest thing for me, having someone to watch my daughter while I went to sit at the NICU. Luckily I had my preemie over Christmas so I had lots of company to help out.

Meals- I've had 3 NICU stays with my 3 kids & meals are hard. If she is pumping then making a double batch of lactation cookies would be awesome. Or just going to sit with her in the NICU. It can be a lonely place when you sit there all day.

Lactation cookies are great, especially after a few weeks. It's hard to keep a good milk supply when you can only use a pump and are separated from your munchkin.
