Does it crisp up the same as when fried? I'm not a fan of fatty bacon...

Re: Oven cooked bacon!

We do what my kids call bacon windows. 3 pieces of bacon cut in half and lay 3 of the cut halves obe under another with 1 inch gaps. Then take the 3 remaining pieces and kind of weave them in makibg a pot holder looking weave. Bake and then they are done. Perfect for blt sandwiches, burgers or portion control. Feels like you are eating more than 3 pieces of bacon and oh so yummy and fun

Someone here said they did this and their stone soaked up so much grease that it never dried. Luckily PC replaced it free or something.

Re: Oven cooked bacon!

I made more bacon this morning- I used a turkey baster to suck up the grease so it would get crispy!

I just want to say how much I love my bacon obsessed husband. He's been making it on the grill! Yay! Now I don't have to smell bacon at all.

Re: Oven cooked bacon!

I tried this with turkey bacon. It came out so much better than on the stove top. Plus I could make every ones bacon at the same time. So a time saver as well.

I had a coupon and looked at turkey bacon today and was scared it wouldn't be as good. My oldest is a bacon lover and I wondered if he would like turkey bacon.

It does taste different. It also doesn't really get crunchy. The oven baked turkey bacon is the crunchiest we have been able to get it. For us though there really isn't a choice. My husband is allergic to pork. It is simply easier to get and cook everyone the same food. Also no chance of mistakenly feeding him the wrong food.

I prefer it now and never by bacon anymore. All turkey bacon is not created equal though, applegate is amazing!
